In Labasa you will find all the daily supplies you may need, construction and hardware supplies, native timbers for the construction of your home, all Fiji government offices, including Vanua Levu’s main hospital, and an airport that is serviced 7-days each week by 35-minute flights from both Nadi and Suva by Pacific Sun’s largest domestic aircraft, the ATR 42.
Further afield is the Hidden Paradise of Savusavu, population 5,000, which can be reached in just over one-hour by car on one of the most scenic drives in all of Fiji, traversing pristine tropical rainforest enshrouded mountains, and the rugged coastline of Savusavu Bay. Savusavu is a great day trip from Mavuva Island. Lunch at the Copra Shed Marina viewing the visiting yachts moored in the natural harbour with beautiful Nawi Island in the background is a highlight.
